For an international pharmaceutical company located in Basel we are looking for an

Business Planning Analyst M&A IT (m/w/d) 100%

Job Purpose:

  • Support M&A IT organization in all related finance activities: business partner for M&A IT projects (spin-off/divestments as well as acquisitions & integrations); providing complex business planning and analysis support, management reporting, budget and latest estimates, forecasting; providing decision-making analysis for M&A projects.

Major Accountabilities:

Business Partnering
  • Partners effectively on different dimensions (local, global, project level, operation cost level)
  • Designs and implements global complex accounting and reporting structures for multi domain deals
  • Provides data for negotiations with external as well internal stakeholder on constant basis
  • Evaluates and challenges economic benefit of projects
  • Provides cost transparency and ensure good understanding of key cost drivers
  • Evaluates risks & opportunities, proactively communicates and makes recommendations for mitigation. Follows up and ensures issues are addressed
  • Ensures business partners understand the financial processes and follow internal guidelines/SOPs
  • Generates ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions

Planning (Budget, Latest Forecast, Latest Outlooks) & Reporting
  • Provide financial planning for assigned M&A IT activities including but not limited to Project budget and spend, TSAs, stranded costs, project budgets etc.
  • Ad hoc timely, accurate and meaningful financial management reporting that serve for the basis of performance management and decision making
  • Coordinating financial alignment between M&A IT and IT business
  • Challenges business requirements and validate with equivalent benchmarks

Decision support for Investments/Projects
  • Works in close collaboration with the Business and supports the financial assessment, evaluation and execution/tracking of M&A-related projects and their impact to operation cost

Accounting / Compliance
  • Ensures good accounting and practices in line with the company Accounting Manual (NAM)
  • Applies standard accounting concepts and techniques
  • Takes responsibility for specific functional reporting set up in FCRS
  • Identifies root cause of problems and recommends controls or processes for improvement.

Ideal Background:
  • Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelor degree or equivalent in Finance & Accounting or similar business degree/MBA desirable

Languages:
  • English, German (not mandatory)

Experience:
  • 3 - 5 years finance experience in various areas in a global operating, multi-dimensional organization (Controlling/Business Planning & Analysis, FRA, Treasury)
  • Budgeting, controlling and reporting
  • Business process and system development
  • Very good understanding on business and financial processes
  • Strategy development & implementation
  • Global/Multi-function project and change management experience
